Meridian Police, Meridian Fire, Idaho State University and Meridian School District team up to enhance student safety
July 20, 2012
On Monday July 23, 2012, from 10 a.m. to noon, the Meridian Police Department, Meridian Fire Department, Idaho State University-Meridian and the Meridian School District will be participating in a joint exercise to enhance student safety and first responder response.
This exercise will take place at the ISU-Meridian campus, 1311 E Central Drive, and the Meridian School District Offices, 1303 E. Central Drive, Meridian, Idaho. The buildings connect to each other.
The exercise will focus on a first responder response to an emergency at a school, which will cause the schools to practice their lockdown procedures as well as challenge police and fire personnel on their response procedures and communication with the schools.
Exercises like these are used to evaluate and develop better responses by all of the entities involved and to encourage the face-to-face relationships which are critical to enhancing the safety of our children.
