ISU-Meridian dean tapped for panel on childhood obesity

ISU-Meridian Academic Dean Bessie Katislometes will serve as a panelist Sept. 26 during the Treasure Valley screening of the HBO documentary “The Weight of the Nation: Children in Crisis.”
The screening will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Sawtooth Room of Joint School District No. 2, adjacent to the ISU-Meridian Health Science Center, 1311 E. Central Drive. The event is free and open to the public. Click here to register.
Also serving on the panel are Treasure Valley YMCA Chief Executive Officer Jim Everett, St. Luke’s Medical Center pediatrician Mindy Gaddis, registered dietician Sue Linja, and Dave Self, PacificSource Idaho regional director. Idaho Statesman publisher, Mike Jung, will moderate the discussion.
“The Weight of the Nation” is a four-part documentary series addressing the public health issues of obesity and what communities can do to fight them. “Children in Crisis” is part three of the series.
