Ann Kirkwood to discuss Hispanic youth suicide on radio show

Saturday, Nov. 24, Idaho State University-Meridian’s Ann Kirkwood will be the featured guest on a call-in radio show addressing suicide among Hispanic youth.
Kirkwood, the Institute of Rural Health’s youth suicide prevention director, will discuss the signs and symptoms of mental illness, suicide risk and protective factors for Hispanic youth, and what parents and other adults in a child's life can do to prevent suicide.
The program will air from 11 a.m. to noon on Nov. 24 and repeat Sunday, Nov. 25, 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
SALyLUZ Radio Catolica, in partnership with the Institute of Rural Health and St. Mary's Church in Boise, is sponsoring the call-in show.
Treasure Valley listeners can hear the program on 1490 AM. Statewide listeners can access the show at www.salyluzradio.com. The program will be offered in Spanish and English.
