ISU-Meridian group featured in PSA promoting health care coverage for Idaho kids
July 27, 2011
The 30-second public service announcement is airing on Treasure Valley and Twin Falls television stations through Aug. 28 and features ISU-Meridian academic dean, Dr. Bessie Katsilometes, former Boise State basketball star
Daequon Montreal and University of Idaho communications officer Ysabel Bilbao. Click here to view the PSA on You Tube.
The three are standing on a Boise basketball court, flanked by children in Bengal, Bronco and Vandal gear. The adults deliver lines acknowledging athletic rivalry on the court, but agree all Idaho children need health care coverage. They encourage financially strapped parents to sign up for low-cost or free coverage through the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
“It’s vital information families need to know,” said CHIPRA project director, Mary Lou Kinney, who approached the three universities about doing the PSA. The project is part of the 2011 Back-To-School Campaign for Idaho CHIP.
