I Love ISU campaign kicks off in Treasure Valley Aug. 17
July 21, 2011
Idaho State University senior Dillon Harris will graduate in May, thanks to an ISU scholarship that covered tuition and part of his housing during his college years.
“I wouldn’t have been able to go to school without it,” he told members of the Meridian Chamber of Commerce during a luncheon July 19. Now he’d like other students to have a similar opportunity.
Harris, along with representatives from the ISU-Meridian Health Science Center and the ISU Foundation, encouraged chamber members to open their pocket books and support the annual I Love ISU scholarship campaign in August and September. Donations are tax deductible and will support a student attending the ISU-Meridian campus or the campus of the donor’s choice.
Harris, who grew up in Notus, west of Boise, will graduate with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in robotics and communication systems in May 2012.
The Meridian campaign officially begins with the Treasure Valley Love Kickoff Event Aug. 17, 5:30-7:30 p.m., at ISU Meridian, 1311 E. Central Drive. The scholarship phone drive is Sept. 8 and 9.
