Delta Dental Residency Clinic at ISU opens on Meridian campus
August 3, 2011
A new dental clinic that provides advanced training for licensed dentists opened Aug. 3 at the Idaho State University-Meridian Health Science Center, 1311 E. Central Drive. Patient fees are based on a sliding scale.
The Delta Dental of Idaho Advanced Dental Residency Clinic at Idaho State University is located in the Center’s west wing. The 5,200-square-foot clinic, designed by Hummel Architects of Boise, has 12 clinical treatment rooms, an X-ray and sterilization lab, faculty offices, a waiting room and reception area.
The new clinic was financed with a $500,000 gift from Delta Dental of Idaho Community Outreach and a $1 million appropriation from the 2010 Idaho Legislature. ISU has closed its Family Dentistry Clinic at 2033 E. Summersweet Drive in east Boise. University officials say moving the dental clinic to the ISU-Meridian Health Science Center will be more convenient for patients and enhance learning opportunities for students.
A grand opening celebration is set for Aug. 30, 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. with a brief program starting at 1 p.m.
In 2005, ISU expanded its advanced dental residency program to the Treasure Valley, admitting four licensed dentists each year to complete an intense 12-month training program.
