Proposals for Kasiska College of Health Professions Research Day Due Feb. 12
January 14, 2010
Are you conducting exciting health-related research you’d like to share with faculty, students and community partners? Consider displaying your project at the 21st annual Kasiska College of Health Professions Research Day, Friday, April 9.
The deadline to submit proposals is 5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 12. The KCHP Research Day Committee has set up a Research Day website to guide you through the submission process, said committee member David Talford.
The Kasiska College of Health Professions hosts Research Day to promote and disseminate ongoing health-care research in Idaho. The event also provides a local venue for faculty, staff, students and Idaho health-care partners to showcase research they’ve presented at regional, national and international levels as well as encourage “across-discipline collaboration,” said Talford, a clinical assistant professor in the Physician Assistant Studies Program at ISU-Meridian.
Research Day presentations will occur on the ISU main campus in Pocatello and at ISU-Meridian Health Science Center. Many sessions will be broadcast simultaneously using distance-learning technology.
This year’s theme is Communities and KCHP: Advancing Idaho Health Care Together. Keynote speaker is Boise physician Karl Watts, the American Academy of Family Physicians’ 2010 Physician of the Year. Dr. Watts is also founder of Genesis World Mission and a member of Gov. Otter’s 2007 Select Committee on Health Care.
