Scholarships awarded at Meridian Health Science Experience Night

More than 140 Treasure Valley high school students, parents and college students attended the fourth annual Health Science Experience Night at the ISU-Meridian Health Science Center on Oct. 29.
Treasure Valley students Amanda Freeland, who attends Melba High School, and Taylor Kautz, who attends Meridian’s Rocky Mountain High School, were awarded $500 scholarships donated by the ISU College of Pharmacy and the Kasiska College of Health Professions.
Attendees had the opportunity to explore more than 20 programs in the health professions and sciences, visit with faculty and get “hands-on” experience in human patient simulation, nursing and clinical laboratory sciences.
Other programs represented included physician assistant studies, sports medicine and physical education, speech pathology, geomatics, audiology, public health, counseling, geosciences, dietetics and pharmacy.
