ISU Hires New Graduate Coordinator for ISU-Boise Athletic Administration Program

Boise – Former Idaho State University athletic director Howard Gauthier, PhD., has returned to Idaho State as an assistant professor and graduate coordinator in the Department of Sport Science and Physical Education. He will teach at the ISU-Boise campus, 12301 W. Explorer Drive.
"It's nice to be home," says Gauthier, who served as ISU's athletic director from 1998 to 2003. "My purpose for getting into higher education and sports was to have an impact on the lives of young people."
Gauthier has more than 25 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics. Before returning to Idaho, he was athletic director at California State University, Montery Bay for two years and served as athletic director at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall.
He’s also coached basketball at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Roanoke College in Salem, Va., and Whitworth College in Spokane, Wash. He was head basketball coach at Eastern Oregon from 1990-93.
Gauthier received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Washington State University, his master’s degree in sports management from St. Thomas University in Miami,
