Services for Those Who Attend Classes or Work on the Pocatello Campus of ISU

Interlibrary Loan will obtain materials that the library does not own.

  • Books

A notice will be sent to your @isu.edu email account when items are available for pick-up at the Library Circulation Desk, 1st floor.
The Circulation Desk is open all the hours the Library is open.
    Library Circulation Desk Phone: 208-282-3248
Items will be held for 2 weeks. If for some reason the pick-up cannot be done within those 2 weeks, please notify the Interlibrary Loan Office by phone.
    (208-282-3127) or email libill@isu.edu
Items are also returned to the Library Circulation Desk.

  • Articles

Articles are posted in your ILLiad Interlibrary Loan account.
A notice will be sent to your @isu.edu email account letting you know the article is available.
Access to each document is available for 30 days or for 5 views, whichever happens first.
After the view period the document is automatically deleted and you will no longer be able to access it through this Web delivery process.
If you do not view, save, or print the document during the 30-day window, you will have to request the article again for a $10.00 charge, in addition to all other applicable charges.

Interlibrary Loan for Distance Users

Services for Non-ISU Individuals

All other persons, including Community Borrowers, should contact their local public library.
In Pocatello, we suggest that non-university library users contact the Marshall Public Library to request and obtain materials that are not owned by the Oboler Library. Residents of Chubbuck and local county residents should contact Portneuf District Library to request materials that are not owned by the Oboler Library.

Other libraries may request from us in the usual manner.

Loans

Due dates are assigned by the lending library. The borrower is responsible for items until returned and checked in by the Oboler Library.

Not all items can be renewed. Renewal policies are set by the lending library. If an item can be renewed, you must request a renewal before the item is overdue or you will be billed an overdue charge.

Renewals

Renewals may be possible depending on the policies of the lending library. Please check with the ISU Interlibrary Loan office by phone (208) 282-3127 or email libill@isu.edu before the material is due.

Overdue Fees

A courtesy notice is sent via email to your @isu.edu email account 3 days before an item is due as a reminder to return the item.

Fines for the late return of interlibrary loan materials accrue at $1.00 per day per item. There is no maximum charge.

If interlibrary loan materials are not returned within two weeks, a replacement fee of $200.00 or lending library charge, whichever is greater per item will be billed to ISU patrons.

Billings

All charges will appear on your campus account. A HOLD will appear in the Computer at the Eli M. Oboler Library Circulation Dept. until the bill is paid.
