When students, faculty or staff of Idaho State University have an urgent mental health concern for themselves or another person, they can contact our office in Idaho Falls at 282-7750, or in Pocatello at 282-2130, or come in to our Idaho Falls office in room 223 of the Bennion Student Union or our Pocatello office in Gravely Hall South room 315 and ask to speak with a counselor.
Our staff is available for emergencies and consultations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday during the regular school year. Our summer hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., but please call us at 282-7750 as a counselor may not always be available during summer hours but we can refer you to other low cost/no cost counseling services in the area. After normal working hours, emergency response is initiated by contacting Campus Security at 282-2515 or by dialing 911. Counseling staff also coordinate and assist with follow-up to such emergencies and conduct critical incident stress debriefings. Contact us for more information.
