What Are People Saying About the Idaho AHEC Scholars Program?

"Growing up in a small town and working with some underprivileged patients has opened my eyes to how desperately healthcare is needed in rural/underserved areas. Sharing information to those who don't know and giving care to those in need is something I am passionate about. Being a WWAMI AHEC Scholar would give me this opportunity, and open other possibilities to serve those in need." Lauren Wood, Idaho State University.

"Participating in the Idaho AHEC program will allow me to gain the experience and knowledge I need to best serve my patients of all needs and backgrounds. In addition, gaining the experiences available through this program will help me further realize the impact that healthcare can have in these areas and help me be the best physician for my future patients." Allie Ward, University of Idaho.

"Being an AHEC Scholar means I will be prepared to serve everyone, anywhere. I will graduate as a physician having learned more than just medicine. The AHEC Scholar program stands out to me as an opportunity to take charge of my medical education and make sure I am truly a well rounded provider for my patients." Marisa Helm, Boise State University.
