Physical Education Teaching Endorsement

Idaho State University Physical Education Students learn hands-on skills in class.

The Human Performance and Sport Studies Department at Idaho State University offers a teaching endorsement in physical education that will provide you with the skills and knowledge to teach K-12 physical education. Our dedicated professors will instruct you in teaching techniques and physical education content. You will graduate ready to help your students grow and create healthy lives. 

  • Physical education endorsement marketable skills include:
    • Coaching
    • Demonstration and program design implementation
    • First Aid and CPR Certified
    • Health and wellness
    • Human relations
    • Instructional and motivational skills
    • Leadership
    • Verbal and and written communication
    • Computer-based skills

Teaching Programs

Idaho State University Admissions Process

For Undergraduate Students:
  1. Create an account with Idaho State University 

  2. Materials needed include:  

    • Transcripts or GED

    • Official ACT or SAT scores

    • $50 application fee

      (waived for graduates of Idaho high schools)

For Transfer Students:

Must have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA in fourteen (14) or more credit hours to apply.

  1. Fill out the application 
  2. $50 application fee (waived for graduates of Idaho high schools)
  3. Submit final official transcript(s) from each college attended. If currently attending, in-progress transcripts are accepted, but a final official transcript must be sent upon completion of coursework.
