The Sport and Exercise Science Program will prepare you for a career studying and practicing the science of movement. Our dedicated professors will help you build a foundation in human performance and exercise science through both instruction and experience by working hands-on in our Human Performance Lab. You will graduate ready to help people learn, grow, and heal through movement. Join us, and make the world move!

  • Elevated Experience
    • The in-person program prepares students to advance their educational pathways in sport medicine, health sciences, physical or occupational therapy, athletic trainers, researchers, and more. 
    • Sport and exercise science students train in a state-of-the-art, on-campus Human Performance Lab. Various exercise tests and fitness evaluations are offered in the lab including Wingate and performance testing and nutritional analysis. 
    • Idaho State University is seen as one of the most affordable, accredited universities in the country.

Idaho State University Admissions Process

For Undergraduate Students:
  1. Create an account with Idaho State University 

  2. Materials needed include:  

    • Transcripts or GED

    • Official ACT or SAT scores

    • $50 application fee

      (waived for graduates of Idaho high schools)

For Transfer Students:

Must have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA in fourteen (14) or more credit hours to apply.

  1. Fill out the application 
  2. $50 application fee (waived for graduates of Idaho high schools)
  3. Submit final official transcript(s) from each college attended. If currently attending, in-progress transcripts are accepted, but a final official transcript must be sent upon completion of coursework.

Human Performance Lab

Students in our Sport and Exercise Science program work extensively with some of the best equipment in the world through the Idaho State University Human Performance Lab. Various exercise tests and fitness evaluations are offered in the lab, both for students and for the public. Students seeking a degree will become proficient in performing standard exercise tests. The lab has become a staple of the ISU Human Performance and Sport Studies department, allowing students to gain expertise in exercise testing and research.
