- Introduce chronological thinking by identifying continuity and change, cause and effect, and other analytical thinking skills related to historical change through time.
- Develop skills to interpret primary and secondary sources.
- Explain and support arguments in response to historical questions.
Required Course (HIST 2291)
- Develop historical research skills to locate and interpret primary and secondary sources.
- Evaluate historical argumentation by analyzing a variety of perspectives and sources of evidence.
Required Course (HIST 4491)
- Apply historical research skills to locate and interpret primary and secondary sources.
- Evaluate historical argumentation by analyzing a variety of perspectives and sources of evidence.
- Develop original historical questions and formulate historical arguments based on evidence to answer those questions.
Upper Division U.S. History Courses
- Analyze historical developments and position the ideas, motivations, and actions of people in the past within their local, national, regional, and/or global contexts.
- Employ chronological thinking by identifying continuity and change, cause and effect, and other analytical thinking skills related to historical change through time.
- Evaluate and/or construct historical argumentation by analyzing a variety of perspectives and sources of evidence.
- Implement skills to interpret primary and secondary sources.
Upper Division World History Courses
