About the International Affairs Council
Join Idaho State's International Affairs Council (IAC)
Want to be part of a unique team that organizes one of Idaho State University’s most prestigious events? The International Affairs Council (IAC) is the student-led group behind the Annual Frank Church Symposium on International Affairs. By joining, you’ll gain hands-on experience in global event planning, build valuable skills, and connect with professionals and experts in international relations.
How to Get Involved
There are two ways to join:
- For Credit: Earn credits by enrolling in the IAC course, which offers 1 credit in the fall and 3 credits in the spring. The course includes weekly meetings on Wednesdays in Gravely Hall from 12:00 - 12:50 PM, with additional meetings on Mondays and Fridays in the spring semester.
- As a Club Member: Attend the same meetings, work with the same team, and contribute just as actively—all without registering for credit. You’ll be a full member of the IAC and help shape the symposium.
Why Join?
The IAC is open to students from all majors, class levels, and nationalities—no prior knowledge is needed, just an interest in international affairs. While we typically have members from Global Studies and Political Science, we especially value skills from the Communications and Business fields. All perspectives and interests are welcome to help bring international issues and discussions to our community.
What You’ll Gain

- Networking Opportunities
- Communication and Outreach Experience

- Hands-On Resume Boosters
Joining the IAC is more than just planning an event—it’s a chance to make an impact, engage in meaningful global topics, and bring valuable insights to Southeastern Idaho.
