Gov. Brad Little announces LAUNCH grants for graduating high school seniors. Sign up now!
The following announcement from Governor Brad Little’s office was distributed to all state employees on September 23, requesting that they share the news in their publication outlets.
Do you know a high school senior who will graduate in 2024? Our new LAUNCH grants will provide graduating high school seniors a one-time opportunity to have 80% of their tuition and fees paid for after high school, up to $8,000. They must enroll in apprenticeships, job training, community college, and university programs that lead to in-demand careers.
There are hundreds of programs and careers for them to choose from, and they can always change their minds later as long as they switch to another approved program. We just need them to apply!
The application window for the Idaho LAUNCH grants opens Oct. 3, and Idahoans can sign up now at Idaho LAUNCH to get notified when high school seniors are able to apply.
With approximately $75 million available for Idaho LAUNCH funding, it is possible for the program to offer awards to 9,000-10,000 Idaho graduating seniors in 2024.
However, high school seniors or parents of high school seniors should not delay in applying when the application window opens Oct. 3 because there is only enough funding to offer awards to about half of Idaho’s seniors.
LAUNCH is a game changer for our young Idahoans. Through LAUNCH, Idaho is recognizing that hundreds of career paths after high school deserve our support. These are “real world” jobs Idaho employers desperately need to fill.
I appreciate your help in encouraging any high school senior in your life – or their parent – to go sign up at Idaho LAUNCH to receive a notification when LAUNCH opens on Oct. 3.
