Andrew (Andy) Coose has been TSA's Federal Security Director at Boise Airport for the State of Idaho since 2007. Mr. Coose started as Deputy Director for TSA at the Portland International Airport (PDX) in Portland, Oregon, for five years, where he played a vital role in the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) initial roll-out in 2002. During his tenure as Director in Idaho, the Boise Airport was named TSA's 2009 "Airport of the Year."
Mr. Coose has 20+ years of experience in aviation security. He served in an airport security screening capacity in Spokane, WA, from 1990-91 and later worked for the FAA's Office of Civil Aviation Security from 1992 until TSA was formed in 2002.
Mr. Coose also served overseas for TSA in 2007 with the Safe Skies for Africa program at the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya, and served as TSA Representative in Spain in 2008 and Australia in 2011.
Mr. Coose has a B.A. in International Studies (Political Science) from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Colorado State University. In 2008 he completed "Leadership Best Practices" at Harvard Business School as part of TSA's Senior Leadership Development Program.
