Chemical Safety - General (Hazard Communication)

ISU's Chemical Hazard Communication Plan has been established to inform workers of the health & safety risks associated with chemicals in the workplace. This plan has been written to ensure compliance with the requirements found in the OSHA standard: Hazard Communication, 29 CFR 1910.1200.

Some key information found in the Chemical Hazard Communication Plan includes requirements for chemical inventory, chemical container labeling, Safety Data Sheets, employee training, and identification of responsibilities. 

ISU's Chemical Hazard Communication Plan applies to all areas, specifically non-laboratory, that handle and store hazardous chemicals. Chemical safety requirements for Laboratories can be found in ISU's Chemical Hygiene Plan.
