Cybersecurity Education Opportunities
Idaho State University is a federally designated Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, a designation it has proudly held since 1998.
Idaho State University offers two cybersecurity programs of study:
- Industrial Cybersecurity
- In this hands-on program students learn to defend the critical systems that control the power grid, gasoline pipelines, and manufacturing facilities
- Students can earn an Associate of Applied Science, or an Intermediate Technical Certificate from ISU’s College of Technology
- Credentials can be stacked together to earn a Bachelor of Applied Science in Cyber-Physical Systems
- Computer Science Cybersecurity
- This program is targeted at Computer Science students with a focus on computer programming
- Students can earn an Academic Certificate in Computer Science Cybersecurity or a Graduate Certificate in Secure Cyber Operations from the College of Science and Engineering
In addition, Idaho State University is pleased to offer the National Science Foundation (NSF) Scholarship for Service (SFS) through its NIATEC edu-professional experience. This experience covers tuition, books, and living expenses for high achieving students who commit to work for the federal government for two years immediately following their graduation.
