Who We Are
The Craft Shop is located on the lower level of Idaho State University's Pond Student Union Building. It was established for students and the community to learn the necessary skills to create their crafts and projects. There are experienced staff and student employees available to familiarize you with the facilities in the Craft Shop and assist you in the design and creation of your next craft project.
What We Can Offer You
You will be pleased with the wide variety of equipment that you have access to. Work centers include a wood shop and a clay studio. Other areas are set up for sewing, tie-dye, stained glass, silk painting, mat cutting for photos, paper cutting, and working with different fibers. We have an extensive list of available equipment for crafts, and a small sales area with tools for ceramics, fabrics, webbing, jewelry-making supplies, and much more that you may find helpful in completing your project.
Learn New Skills
In addition to working areas and supplies for projects, we also offer workshops for those interested in learning from local artists and craftspeople who have been teaching workshops at the Craft Shop for years. Most of the classes and workshops are available for adults, but we offer workshops specially designed for children (8 years and up).
If you are interested in being on our mailing list and receiving a calendar of our workshops and classes for the semester, call us and we can mail one out to you. Our calendar provides a brief description of each class or workshop and the details of dates, times, costs, etc.
Mission Statement
The Craft Shop is committed to serving ISU students and enriching the campus community. We are willing and able to share our resources and talents. We enjoy and strive to put forth our best efforts in cooperative ventures for the good of the campus and the community in general.
