Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity - COTAD

The purpose of the club is to increase discussion, awareness and education about diversity both within and outside of the profession of Occupational therapy.  The profession of Occupational therapy requires understanding of our personal flaws, biases and lenses.  Furthermore, we find it imperative that we educate ourselves in order to better ser our future patients and communities and take action in improving our services to individuals, communities, and society.

The purpose of this organization is to foster discussion, awareness, and education about diversity within and beyond the field of Occupational Therapy.  Occupational therapy requires an understanding of personal biases, perspectives, and limitations.  We recognize the necessity of educating ourselves to better serve our future patients and communities.  Additionally, we are committed to taking meaningful action to enhance our service to individuals, communities, and society.
