Now is the time to prepare your courses for this new platform.

Your First Steps
Learn
Step 1: Complete ISU Canvas Faculty Essentials.
Learn how ISU's Canvas differs from Moodle ISU.
Learn how to migrate your courses.
Build
Step 2: Request additional sandboxes for your courses.
Build “sandbox versions” of your courses after completing ISU Canvas Faculty Essentials. To add a co-instructor please fill out the Change Role request form.
Refine
Step 3: Continue learning about ISU Canvas's features and related platforms.
Refine the student experience of your course with these pedagogical approaches and ISU Canvas's distinct features.
Timeline
Fall 2024
- Faculty should complete the ISU Canvas Faculty Essentials course.
- Faculty can continue requesting and working in sandbox courses.
- Town Hall on the Canvas Transition will be held on September 24th at 11:00am Mountain Time.
- Training for Faculty is available.
- Training for Students is available.
Spring 2025
- Faculty can continue requesting and working in sandbox courses.
- Town Hall on the Canvas Transition (specifics TBD).
- Training continues for Faculty.
Summer 2025
- Faculty can continue requesting and working in sandbox courses.
- Training continues for Faculty.
Fall 2025
- Town Hall / Celebration on the Canvas Transition (specifics TBD).
- All courses are taught using Canvas.
- Moodle ISU data will remain available for 2 years to system administrators, in case of grade challenges and incompletes.
- Any instructors needing access to course data will need to open a ticket and the data will be extracted and shared.
- Any students needing to complete coursework will need to do so in Canvas.
