Eligibility / Elegibilidad

Pond Student Union Building and Museum of Natural History on Pocatello Campus.

You must meet ONE of the following requirements:

  1. The student who has previously participated or is currently participating in the K – 12 Migrant Education Program (MEP).
  2. The student or a member of his or her immediate family who has worked as a migrant temporarily/ seasonally doing work in the agricultural, dairy, fishing and forestry industries, for a minimum of 75 days, during the last 24 months.
  3. Agricultural Labor Worker is a person hired temporarily/seasonally to perform agricultural labor whose work requires him to travel and which prevents him from returning home the same day.
  4. Temporary Agricultural Labor Worker is a person who was hired to perform agricultural labor on a temporary or seasonal basis. Not a person who has been hired to work for a year.
  5. A student who has participated in a program under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) for migrant and seasonal farm workers: National Farmworker Employment Program (NFJP).

Additional Requirements for Student Eligibility:

  • You must be a US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident.
  • You must be in your first year of university studies or are about to take/start your first year of university studies.
  • You must prove/verify that you need financial aid (eligible to receive the “Pell Grant”).
  • You must enroll full-time to take a minimum of 12 credits per semester.
  • You must attend the Idaho State University campus in Pocatello for 4 years to complete your undergraduate studies.

Debe cumplir con UNO de los siguientes requisitos:

  1. El estudiante que haya participado anteriormente o que actualmente esté participando en el Programa de Educación del Migrante ["Migrant Education Program" (MEP por sus siglas en inglés) K – 12].
  2. El estudiante o algún miembro de su familia directa que haya trabajado como migrante temporalmente /estacionalmente haciendo labores en las industrias: agrícola, lácteos (lechera), pesquera y forestal, por un mínimo de 75 días, durante el transcurso de los últimos 24 meses.
  3. Trabajador de Labores Agrícolas es una persona contratada temporalmente/ estacionalmente para realizar labores agrícolas cuyo trabajo requiera que viaje y que eso le impida regresar a su casa el mismo día.
  4. Trabajador Temporal de Labores Agrícolas es una persona que fue contratada para realizar labores agrícolas de manera temporal o estacional. No una persona que haya sido contratada para trabajar un año.
  5. Un estudiante que haya participado en el programa bajo la Ley “Workforce Investment Act” (WIA por sus siglas en inglés) para los migrantes y trabajadores temporales de labores agrícolas: Programa Nacional de Empleo para Trabajadores Agrícolas (NFJP por sus siglas en inglés).

Requerimientos Adicionales para la Elegibilidad de los Estudiantes:

  • Debe ser Ciudadano(a) Estadounidense o Residente Legal Permanente.
  • Debe estar cursando su primer año de estudios universitarios o está por cursar/iniciar su primer año de estudios universitarios.
  • Debe comprobar/constatar que necesita ayuda financiera (elegible para recibir la beca llamada “Pell Grant”).
  • Debe inscribirse de tiempo completo para cursar un mínimo de 12 créditos por semestre.
  • Debe asistir al campus de Idaho State University en Pocatello durante 4 años para cursar sus estudios universitarios.
