Outreach Performances (PBQ)

Invite the Portneuf Brass Quintet from ISU to your school for an interactive session including a brief educational and entertaining performance. We also love to provide coachings for your student ensembles. We tailor our performances/clinics to work with your time schedule and ensemble needs. This is a great opportunity to get your students excited about playing in a small chamber setting and to prepare your existing student chamber ensembles for state ensemble competitions. Members: Eddie Ludema, trumpet; Shawn McLain, trumpet; Michael Helman, horn; Sarah Houghton, trombone; William Smith, tuba.

Group Lessons/Clinics

Trumpet group lessons/clinics are offered during the school day. We’ll focus on what you’d like, including (but not limited to) any of the following: band music prep, developing a full and natural sound, intonation, articulation, section balance, practice tips, fundamental work, warm-ups, equipment, etc. As Arnold Jacobs, the legendary former tubist of the Chicago Symphony and revolutionary pedagogue: It’s all about Song and Wind.

Trumpet/Brass Sectionals

We’ll work on playing as a cohesive section by having trumpet/trombone/horn/tuba sectionals (in any combination that you see fit) on your current repertoire. We’ll focus on topics/rep of your choice!
