Dr. Diana Livingston Friedley

Great Diction = Great Singing

Dr. Diana Livingston Friedley will introduce the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) to your students. Using an Italian art song from Idaho’s State Solo List, she will engage students in transcribing the Italian text into IPA. Choral conductors are welcome to choose other State Solo languages such as French and German.

Perfecting Your State Solo!

Dr. Diana Livingston Friedley will work with State Soloists in a masterclass setting. She will address diction, stage deportment and interpretation. The masterclasses are interactive, and students should expect to participate. Accompanists are required. Classes are best arranged during a choral rehearsal or time period when the participants may have an audience!

"Preparing for College Auditions and Beyond!"

Dr. Livingston Friedley will direct students in your music program to navigate and prepare for college auditions. Supplementing answers to questions students have about where to start, what to prepare, walking into the audition, and even after being awarded an undergraduate degree! These are huge questions not only for students, but for their parents. Music Educators wanting to encourage students in their programs will appreciate this conversation either as a separate presentation, before or after school, with their parent's association, etc. Dr. Livingston Friedley offers this presentation either live or on Zoom.
