Graduates get the original copy of the Verification Statement. Please store it with your other important documents.

How to Get Your Verification Statement

The DPD Verification Statement is proof that you successfully completed a program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND^®) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

The DPD Director issues Verification Statements to students upon conferred graduation or program completion (post-baccalaureate), as posted by the University Registrar, indicating that requirements have been met as dictated by ACEND.^®

Several copies of the ACEND^® Verification Statement and directions for use will be sent to you int the mail via U.S. Postal Service
Please make sure that your preferred mailing address is on file with ISU so that you receive this mailing
The Verification Statement with original signatures from the DPD Director are sent to the graduate along with directions for use
Please keep these copies in a safe place
A copy of the Verification Statement with an original signature from the program director is also kept in the student’s file indefinitely

Needed for Dietetic Internship

If you apply for a Dietetic Internship, you must submit the Verification Statement as proof that you graduated from the DPD.

Second Degree Students

Students with a prior earned Bachelor’s Degree or higher (post-baccalaureate) can earn a Verification Statement with completion of the prerequisites and professional courses with a C- or better. Completion of the ISU general education requirements may not be required. The student may choose to earn a second bachelor’s degree, but this is not required to get a Verification Statement.

Graduate School

A master's degree is required to take the RDN exam
Many graduate programs thus offer a combined MS/Dietetic Internship option
Schools also offer MS programs without the supervised practice component
Application requirements and due dates vary for graduate schools
Carefully review each graduate program you are considering and take notice of their process

Supervised Practice Program

Supervised practice programs, called Dietetic Internships, give you hands-on experience in different settings
ISU Dietetic Interns (DIs) are placed in Pocatello, Twin Falls or Meridian
Entry requirements and application process vary by DI program
Many programs use an online centralized application, called DICAS, along with a computer system to match applicants with DI programs, known as D & D Digital
