Future Seminar Dates

James Paris, PhD graduate student with Dr. Colden Baxter, will present his proposal seminar, “Multiscale investigations on the role of spatial complexity in river-floodplain food webs: testing food web theory and informing river management,” Thursday, November 17, in Lecture Center 10 at noon.

Maria Pacioretty, MS graduate student with Dr. Keith Reinhardt, will present her defense seminar, “Living in the Phantom Gas Field: Physiological responses of Artemisia tridentata to experimental-noise-induced changes in arthropod herbivory,” Friday, November 18, in Lecture Center 10 at 9 a.m.

Verona Nicolae, DA graduate student with Dr. Michael Thomas, will present her proposal seminar Thursday, December 1, in Lecture Center 10 at noon.

Dr. Jennifer Chase, BGSA Guest Speaker, will present her seminar Thursday, December 1, in Lecture Center 10 at 4 p.m.

Matthew Schenk, MS graduate student with Dr. Colden Baxter, will present his defense seminar Friday, December 2, in Lecture Center 10 at 2 p.m.

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is currently recruiting for the following positions:
Wildlife Technician, Senior: We are seeking a Senior Wildlife Technician for our Tex Creek Wildlife Management Area (WMA) near Ririe, Idaho. Successful candidates will assist the Regional Wildlife Habitat Biologist implement wildlife habitat programs on the Tex Creek WMA. Responsibilities include: providing supervision to seasonal staff; planning and directing noxious weed control; assisting with habitat restoration, tree and shrub planting, and maintenance of food plots; working directly with private land owners and sportsman; using and maintaining tractors, ATVs, boats, power augers, and chainsaws; conducting plant and animal surveys; collecting data and managing electronic databases; assisting with report writing. Foundation Development Coordinator – Fish and Game: This position is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and coordinating a comprehensive development program to promote foundation, corporate, public and private funding for fish and wildlife programs in Idaho. The successful incumbent will facilitate, lead and operate the Idaho Fish and Wildlife Foundation. The opening is located at our Headquarters in Boise, Idaho. The announcement may be accessed here.
