Be a Bengal

ISU is committed to building an amazing culture across our campuses. This commitment began with the ISU Cares program which became the Be a Bengal program in 2019. For years, the Be a Bengal program has recognized outstanding employees who embody trust, compassion, stability and hope. It has played a key role in building a very special culture here at ISU.

In 2023, ISU’s Strategic Plan outlined six core campus values:
Teamwork, Integrity, Inclusivity, Community, Learning, and Shared Responsibility.

To align with these values and further highlight their importance, the Be a Bengal program is pivoting in 2025. Moving forward, you will have the opportunity to nominate your co-workers for a Be a Bengal award based on any—or all—of our six campus values.

Whether someone demonstrates Teamwork in action, fosters Inclusivity, models Integrity, strengthens our Community, promotes Learning, or takes ownership through Shared Responsibility, you can celebrate their contributions. The best part is you don’t have to choose just one! If your colleague is exemplifying one, two, or all six of these values, they will be recognized for everything they do to help us create an outstanding culture here at ISU.
