The goal of ISU's Arconexiones Conference is to share ideas and academic information on themes of universal interest related to Hispanic literature, languages, and culture.

Meet our Keynotes for 2025!

Dr. Alec Schumacher, Associate Professor of Spanish

Gonzaga University (Spokane, WA)

Alec Schumacher is Associate Professor of Spanish at Gonzaga University. His areas of research include Chilean poetry, the neo-avant-garde, and translation. He has published several articles on Chilean poet Juan Luis Martínez and other avant-garde poets. He has translated works by Jorge Arbeleche, Elvira Hernández, and Luis Correa Díaz. His translation, The Chilean Flag, was nominated for the National Translation Award in Poetry 2020 by ALTA (American Literary Translators Association).
