Cultural Resource Management Certificate
The Cultural Resource Management Certificate provides students with the skills and credentials to stand out in the job market and opens doors to a variety of career opportunities.
Designed for students earning a bachelor’s degree in any discipline, this program equips graduates to pursue roles in government agencies such as the Forest Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, and Bureau of Reclamation, as well as positions in the private sector with environmental firms, museums, and more.
Through interdisciplinary training, students will gain the knowledge and experience needed to become effective cultural resource managers. Coursework and practical experiences focus on:
- Work with the public
- Understand land-use, community planning, and environmental policy
- Understand Native American perspectives on land and artifacts
- Learn legislation regarding cultural resources
- Learn how to ethically balance needs of employer, entity and/or client with public policy
- Learn their responsibilities to preserve human culture and history
