Ethan Kumm, Archaeologist with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM)
My name is Ethan Kumm. I am a graduate of the ISU Anthropology Department with both my Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees. I am now an Archaeologist with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Bristlecone Field Office/Ely District in Ely, Nevada.
My experience with the ISU Anthropology Department was exceptional! The faculty and staff at ISU Anthropology are truly amazing! They all strive to give every student all the tools/skills to succeed in any Anthropology career no matter which sub-field! I gained experience in all the sub-fields of Anthropology which have turned out to be extremely beneficial in my professional career so far! I also had the great pleasure to participate (thanks to the fantastic Anthropology faculty) in a variety of research projects during my time at ISU, most of which were archaeology projects, but also several Forensic projects. All of which were fantastic learning experiences! In conclusion, I have nothing but good things to say about the ISU Anthropology Department! They have helped me in more ways than I can count, not just with providing me the education that I require to become a professional Archaeologist, I also have lasting friendships and professional connections all thanks to ISU Anthropology faculty and staff!!
