Major Academic Plans (MAPs)

Four year degree plans (MAPs) show the required courses for a specified degree using catalog information to arrange courses by semester in a best case scenario. MAPs show credit limit requirements, pre-major and major courses, general education requirements, electives, and the upper division credits required for graduation.

  • MAPs assist students with structure as they plan for the completion of degree requirements.
  • MAPs assist advisors explain topics like credit load, lower division, upper division, prerequisites, corequisites, electives, etc.

The uniform MAP appearance provides a common, familiar, and organized overview of degree requirements. Students who are undecided or changing majors can visually compare MAP requirements to assist in making informed choices.
