Earth Forum
When: April 22nd, 2026. 9:30 am- 3:00 pm
Where: Pond Student Union Building, Ballroom
In celebration of Earth Day, ISU is conducting an earth forum! This event will include panel discussions, networking opportunities, and poster presentations. Registration closes April 6th!
Waste Education & Recycling Video Competition
When: April 22nd, 2026. 2:30 am- 3:00 pm
Where: Pond Student Union Building, Ballroom
During earth forum, we will be hosting a waste education and video competition. Students will create short videos that promote proper waste sorting and recycling practices.
ISU is proud to be a member of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) and to be a holder of a Bronze ranking in the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) report.

Sustainability Course
CE1140: Environmental Sustainability and the Earth’s Climate
This course presents a broad overview of the science of climate change including its possible causes (both natural and anthropogenic), sustainable energy as well as societal and environmental impacts. It examines future climate projections, renewable energy, societal decisions that may influence future greenhouse gas emissions, possible mitigation strategies, and our ability to adapt to climate change. It presents ways to identify disinformation versus legitimate applications of the scientific method.
CE1140 partially satisfies Objective 5 of the General Education Requirements. 3 credits. Fall, Spring.
