Leadership Transition- Idaho State University Alumni Association

April 29, 2024

Following nearly a decade of dedicated service to the Idaho State University Alumni Association, Ryan Sargent assumed a new role as the Associate Vice President for Government and Community Relations and Special Assistant to the President this week. In his new capacity, Ryan will champion ISU's priorities across various governmental levels and lead endeavors to enhance community relations. His responsibilities will entail forging closer ties with the legislature, collaborating with community partners, and working alongside President Wagner to expand ISU's influence beyond the campus borders, fostering new partnerships and bridging connections.

Reflecting on this milestone, Ryan expressed his gratitude for ISU. “Idaho State University holds a special place in my heart, and I'm deeply grateful for the profound impact it’s had on my life,” stated Ryan. “Throughout my nine years in the Alumni Office and University Advancement, I have witnessed firsthand the unwavering dedication of our alumni community and the vital role they play in advancing our university's mission. This moment is bittersweet, but I look forward to the new opportunities ISU continues to provide me in my career.”

Amy Dressel was appointed by Vice President Cathy Wooton to serve as Interim Alumni Director until ISU completes a comprehensive search for this important role. Amy brings over three years of invaluable experience to this position, having served as the Director of Advancement Communications and Alumni Engagement within the Advancement team. Her contributions have been instrumental in driving many initiatives forward, including the establishment of the 1901 Student Alumni Association, implementation of a new event registration system, successful design and execution of Bengal Giving Day activities and numerous other events and achievements.

The ISU Alumni Association and the Division of University Advancement extend heartfelt gratitude to Ryan for his years of dedicated service and wish him the utmost success in his new endeavor as a Bengal.
