Organization
IBAPP is the result of a collaborative effort between a number of institutions in Idaho. We overview here the various relationships relevant to the project.
Institutional relationships
The relationship of IRH, IEM and the IBAPP project, to the preparedness and bioterrorism response programs and resources in Idaho is described in the organization chart below.
- Preparedness Resources: Idaho has created access to a number of preparedness resources including the Idaho Bureau of Homeland Security, the Department of Health and Welfare, the Idaho Health Alert Network (HAN), the Department of Agriculture, the State’s Emergency Medical Services Communications Center, and the Medical Reserves Core (MRI).
- The Idaho Public Health Preparedness Program: This program is located within the Health Preparedness Program, Division of Health at the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.
- The Idaho Bioterrorism Hospital Preparedness Program: Renamed the Idaho Health Care System Preparedness Program in 2004, this program is upgrading the capabilities of Idaho health care entities to respond to bioterrorism, public health emergencies, and improve regional preparedness and response.
- The Emergency Services Training Program (EST): Part of the Idaho Division of Professional-Technical Education, this program provides coordination of training of Idaho's emergency service agencies. The goal of EST is to plan, administer and deliver uniform, comprehensive statewide training programs on Haz Mat Training and Fire Service Training.
IBAPP implementation & evaluation plan
A primary goal of this project is to extend the reach and increase the effectiveness of existing bioterrorism awareness and preparedness curricula. The figure below broadly describes the implementation and evaluation plan of this effort.
