Ruth is a native of Idaho and has lived in Boise for over 35 years.  She is active in the local and state dietetic associations, and has been president of both. She is currently the Delegate from Idaho to the House of Delegates of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, serving her second term.  Ruth was also the first chair of the licensure board for dietetics in Idaho. 

In 2013, Ruth was named the Outstanding Educator for Dietetic Internships for Area One.

Her hobbies include gardening and cooking, skiing, mountain bike riding, backpacking, river rafting, and traveling.

Teaching Areas
Public Health, Non-diet Approach, Childhood feeding issues, Hunger, nutrition-focused phyical assessment.

Research Interests
Health at Every Size Approach, feeding and advocating for the homeless and low income (food security).
