The MBA and MAcc programs have a number of graduate assistantships available. The stipend for the assistantship is approximately $9,900 per year, both in-state or out-of-state tuition, and medical benefits.
Although assistantships are awarded only for fall and spring terms, in some cases tuition for summer school will also be included. College of Business graduate assistants undertake a variety of duties in the college and university.
Assistantships represents a commitment of 20 hours per week and individuals are expected to not hold other employment. Graduate Assistant positions are available only to full time students. In order to be considered for a GA position, you must be accepted into the MBA or MAcc program.
The College awards assistantships for the fall and spring semesters. The application deadline for fall awards is April 1; for spring awards, November 1. Preference is given for early applicants.
If needed, applicants may be contacted for an interview, either in person or by phone. Notifications of decisions will be sent out three weeks after the deadline.
There are two types of Graduate Assistantships:
1. Bengal Solutions Scholar: Scholars will have the opportunity to gain real-world working experience as a business advisor for local companies. To apply fill out the on-line application.
2. COB Assistant: GAs will work directly with professors and perform research, teach classes or labs, tutor, manage grading and a variety of other tasks for the College of Business.
